We’re all hurtling around these days.
Rushing here. Rushing there.
Sprinting through our careers, speeding through commitments, zooming through relationships and dashing through our leisure time too …
But then — suddenly — demise catches us out.
Death sledgehammers into us. And it knocks some sense back in to our daily buzz-buzz…
Mortality not only shocks us … it slows us down too. And we need to be slowed down. For our own sakes!
We were thinking about this yesterday after we heard the news of Prince’s death. And we got to thinking, what’s the rush? Where we are all heading, anyway?
Curiously, and in timely fashion, the award-winning Blues-Rock band KING KING have just released their “Rush Hour” single from “Reaching For the Light.”
KING KING are from Glasgow, Scotland and have established themselves as one of the most reputable modern blues bands in Britain. This new song is potent, evocative and essential.
It also comes out just in time for their tour [ dates below ] with DAN PATLANSKY in May —
We listened to “Rush Hour” —
“Youv’ve gotta know what you’re living for…” sings Nimmo.
His loose gravel voice seems strained & pained against the rushed torment of metallic guitars. These unfurl and blaze, whilst the pace lumbers like a bear with a sore-head.
And the lead break, when it comes, turns on the air with zigzags of bluish white light.
Incredible!
