The British doom group COURTESANS have been announced for the UK’s number one metal festival BLOODSTOCK OPEN AIR at Catton Park, Derbyshire this Summer.
Courtesans will play on the Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday the 13th of August 2017 ahead of their EP release and new song “Knowhere” currently streaming online.

Vocalist Sinead La Bella said, “To perform at Bloodstock is incredibly exciting. It’s a huge honour to play the Sophie Lancaster Stage, her legacy is at the heart of our ethics. We are advocates of equality and have a zero tolerance to any form of prejudice. We hope to raise a few eyebrows and stir some s**t up!”
Establishing their extraordinary musical heterogeneity and properly disturbing the male-dominated doom-rock status quo with their forthcoming new EP “Better Safe Than Sober” this exceptional band joins an exciting bill at the B.O.A that already includes Amon Amarth, Megadeth, Skindred, Arch Enemy, Hatebreed, Testament and many more.
Ahead of “Better Safe Than Sober” Courtesans are streaming a new track, ‘Knowhere’ [check below] —
We had a listen :
This resonating number is a high-pressure ever-precipitating chug. An audacious monster of a song… With chromatically necromantic, festering urgency that takes the listener right into the heart of the “zombie astral…”
