The two-times GRAMMY nominated blues-rock colossus JOE BONAMASSA returns with a new studio album titled “Redemption” to be launched on September 21, 2018 through Provogue / Mascot Label Group in Europe and J & R Adventures in North America
“Redemption” is the thirteenth solo studio album by Bonamassa and the third in a row of all original material. It sees him on ambitious form as he continues to redefine and push-back the blues-rock barriers.
The album presents a collection of twelve stimulating songs that reflects the rebirth that is currently experiencing: “I’m going through some other stuff in my life I didn’t expect to be going through. It’s a rising, it’s contrition, it’s acceptance, it’s everything. It’s painful, but knowing that there’s a rising coming,” he reveals.
The album reunites to Bonamassa with some of the best Nashville musicians, like Tom Hambridge, James House, Gary Nicholson as well as Richard Page, Dion Dimucci. And on “Redemption” Joe continues his long recording relationship with Kevin Shirley.
“From a Producer’s perspective, this is far and away the most challenging and diverse album that Joe has ever made…” Shirley says.
The title song [shared below] is a slick and slippery swamp-blues hit with a hard-man voice and the most amazing & angelic background vocals. This brings the pain of the blues but pushes personality to the forefront and, of course, offers the gift of true hope.
