LINDSEY STIRLING — The Upside + Artemis Tour Dates

The American violinist, singer and songwriter (and bestselling author) LINDSEY STIRLING says she has been fascinated by dance and violin “…ever since I was a kid….” When told “we can’t afford both” — she opted to take up violin.

Stirling – distinctive electronic-violin technique…

In 2010 she got to the quarter-finals of America’s Got Talent where she was described as a “hip hop violinist.” Her act incorporated hip-hop, pop, and classical music played on violin with dance moves she choreographed for herself.

Since the show, she found much success and collaborated with artists such as: The Decemberists, John Legend, Lzzy Hale, Tyler Ward and many others.

In 2013 Troy Carter (Lady Gaga’s manager) signed a deal with Stirling after saying he’d been impressed by her rise. Her self-titled album made her the second best-selling artist on the Classical Crossover charts in 2013, behind Andrea Bocelli   [Passione ]. Since then she’s accumulated over 11 million YouTube subscribers, 2 billion-plus YouTube streams, and won multiple Billboard Music Awards.

Stirling is about to release her fifth studio album: “Artemis” — due 6th September.

The track “The Upside” (shared below) features vocalist Elle King (an instrumental version is also available) and has been released ahead of the album.

The atmospheric electronic-dance track brings elements of King’s smoky tonality with Lindsey’s distinctive electronic-violin technique. The tachycardic number integrates progressive house with orthodox pop to generate a responsive, highly-kinetic, and undoubtedly dauntless dancebomb that’s as passionate and thrilling as a twosome at a salsa-party. Contagious!

Lindsey Stirling will embark on an extensive Euro Tour this autumn in support of “Artemis” [dates below video.]

Artemis is expected 6th September. Pre-Order Here.
