London indie pop trio Felt Tip launch their debut single ‘Love Or Pity’ (out today via fierce panda/ Fandango) with a very special show at The Sebright Arms this Friday (22nd November). Support comes from Curxes and Climbing Boys.
Felt Tip comprises of Tom Rapanakis (drums) Anton Trampon ( guitar) and James Tyler – (bass & vocals) and are named after a song by Swedish lo-fi punk band ‘Love Is All’.
‘Love Or Pity’ is their debut single. It was recorded on Rory Atwell’s lighthouse boat studio (The Vaccines, Palma Violets) in East London.
We had a listen:
A bony skeleton of toothy plucked guitars is neatly punctuated by a nervous drum and a hollow voice. The bass is a touch huffy as it gurgles under a pile of straws and tightly scattered stones.
A chorus emerges sadly – a bleary-eyed dew-filled fermentation. There are few rue-filled chances in this abundant paper-cup offering. It’s as light as tissue – but crinkly magnificent.
