Broods Stuck Behind Four Walls

Blenheim, New Zealand, duo “Broods” (Georgia Nott on lead vocals, with older brother and multi-instrumentalist Caleb Nott on backing vocals) have now released their debut album ‘Evergreen’.

The Notts have been performing together since childhood – and began collaborating with music producer Joel Little (he produced Lorde’s 2013 hit single “Royals”.)

The band made their UK debut at London’s Notting Hill Arts Club in March 2014, and they toured briefly with the Haim.

We have been listening to “Four Walls” :

The voice of Georgia is lippy and dribbly.

And it appears shiny against the black notes that are spooned from by the piano.

The song gradually expands – and as it does – the voice gains great fortitude.

A nervy little click helps pace the piece.

This adds insulation for the anxious emptiness that is evoked by this simply beautiful song.

Order the album as soon as possible!

You will not regret it!
