Those fashionable crash-landing rakes the LAST GREAT DREAMERS continue to make progress in their popular comeback when they run with the legendary glam-rockers Tigertailz this Spring. [Dates below]
The 1980s band [although more famous as the Marquee Club ‘house band’ in the early 1990s] have already re-released their best album – “Retrosexual ” ( as a 21st Anniversary re-mastered edition) – and they have also been out on tour with the former Runaway’s singer Cherie Currie.
Of course, now the DREAMERS are self-financed … Gone are the days of the big labels and pots of money … but they seem to prefer the artistic control and the organic feel of how things are done these days.
The band aim to complete a new album for general release in September, and so are asking fans to get involved with their project at PledgeMusic.
Just pop over to Pledgemusic and take a look.
The band are releasing new single “Glitterball Apocalypse” on April 15th to coincide with their tour.
We had a listen:
There is a web of foamed and shaken guitars that agitate and coil as dark clouds loom overhead …
Then a Pogo-Nut upbeat rhythm lustily takes over our hearts.
The lead vocal reminds us of the glue of Elvis Costello… perhaps with an extra sniff of Vicks Sinex ..
Once this thing starts fizzing at the bung it’s a joy. With dark fuzzies and a swarovski chorus.
It’s brit-pop with a glamorous sparkle-fluffer edge and a slice of compassion and respect at its core. What’s not to like?
This is an exclamation of frustration and concern fired from a shoulder launched confetti blaster …
