MEGAN NASH released her “Artifact”at the close of 2020 to much applause.
Now the Canadian singer-songwriter from Mortlach, Saskatchewan, a musician who was nominated for the JUNO award in 2019 and twice a WCMA nominee, has presented her latest song, titled ‘Quiet’ complete with an accompanying video (shared below).
Megan & the Best of Intentions’ new song is about losing love; it’s a long goodbye and it’s about being abandoned and left to fend for oneself in a harsh and deserted wasteland.
“What an unforgiving horizon Saskatchewan has…” says Megan “ It can really draw out a goodbye...”
“‘Quiet’ was born out of heartbreak and I hope it serves as an anthem for the lonely, the one left behind.”
Quiet was born out of heartbreak
The synth-driven number is unexpectedly buoyant (maybe because it’s based on the beats of a jazz exercise)…
So, the syrup-voiced singer channels the full Jane Fonda’s 1980s workout experience while, synchronously, she considers the dispiriting absence of togetherness in a panoptic and and all-encompassing void.
This is a song that ponders the vast vacuum we sometimes find ourselves dumped into through no (direct) fault of our own. yet you can also dance to it! What commendable fortitude!
